X1 Accessories: Ultra sleeve

I was looking to update the notebook sleeve I use when I purchased my X1 Yoga. I had an old, soft and 15″ sleeve, but it was a little big for the X1 Yoga. For some reason, they do not sell great 14″ sleeves here in Finland – everything seems to be either 13″ or 15″. When the X1 Ultra Sleeve was announced, I thought about it for a long time, and finally decided to buy one and try it.

Design

I was initially a little skeptical about the design because it did not cover the entire notebook. But as I was going to put the sleeve in a backpack most of the time, this turned out not to be a problem.

The sleeve has a leather (or leather like) outer shell, and a soft inner material to keep the notebook protected. It is well padded.

The sleeve fits snugly around the X1 Yoga, leaving not much room on the sides. Although a mini-USB receiver (such that you get with wireless mouse) does fit in there. There is also room for a pen, in case you opt for an external pen instead of the internal one of the X1 Yoga.

I transport my X1 Yoga in it every day. It seems to protect to computer quite well. It looks professional enough when I take my notebook with me into a meeting.

Conclusion

I find the Ultra Sleeve a great accessory to the X1 Yoga. The price is on the higher side, but in Finland at least I struggled getting a great sleeve for my notebook. For the price, the sleeve is well built and uses great materials. It fits the notebook perfectly (no wobble, etc).

I am satisfied with the X1 Ultra Sleeve, and can recommend it if someone is looking for extra protection for the X1 Yoga (or X1 Carbon, 2016 model).
